Membership levels
Experience points (XP)
You gain XP every time you fly with KLM or one of our partner airlines. The number of XP you get depends on your travel class and destination. Once you’ve gained enough XP, you automatically move up to the next Flying Blue level and can start enjoying your new benefits right away.
Flying Blue membership levels
When you join Flying Blue, you start as an Explorer. By gaining Experience Points (XP) every time you fly, you reach the next level. Each level has its own benefits, so pack your bags and start gaining XP!
Explorer
As a Flying Blue Explorer member, you earn 4 Miles per euro spent.
Silver
The benefits of being a Flying Blue Silver member, starting at 100 XP:
- Earn 6 Miles per euro spent
- Priority check-in, baggage drop-off and boarding
- Some free seat options 24 hours before departure
- Free selection of standard seats
- One free extra checked baggage item on flights with KLM or some of our partner airlines.
Gold
The benefits of being a Flying Blue Gold member, starting at 180 XP:
- Earn 7 Miles per euro spent
- Free access to our lounges with 1 guest. Your guest has to be on the exact same flight. Your flight has to be operated by KLM, Air France, Air Mauritius, China Southern Airways, GOL, Qantas, Virgin Atlantic or one of our SkyTeam partners.
- SkyPriority: priority access throughout the airport
- Free seat options 72 hours before departure
- Free selection of standard seats
- One free extra checked baggage item on flights with KLM or some of our partner airlines.
Platinum
The benefits of being a Flying Blue Platinum member:
- Choose any seat you want; they’re all free of charge.
- Bring 2 extra pieces of checked baggage on flights with KLM, Air France, or some of our partner airlines.
